That's the new Balanced Body Reformer with Tower on the right. The flatbed platform pops off and there is a sliding platform beneath, just like on the reformer we have been using! I can't wait to get you on it!

I am so excited to announce that Island Pilates by Rose now has a second Balanced Body reformer.

It arrived on Friday and Bob and I spent part of Saturday assembling the equipment and rearranging everything in the studio  so that you will enjoy the best possible experience.

I gave the new tower a tryout on Saturday, after it was all assembled!

The new reformer is much like the old with two huge exceptions: 1. It has a tower. 2. It has a fixed bed as well as the sliding bed.

The tower, as you can see from the pictures, enables an incredible range of exercises previously unavailable in this studio.

The fixed bed means you can lie in a still prone position and not have to worry about controlling the sliding bed. This creates greater focus on specific muscle groups and is especially good if you are recovering from injuries.

The tower is something that I used in my previous studio in California, so I am well aware of its capabilities, applications and benefits. We will be incorporating it into your sessions, as appropriate,  in the weeks ahead.

Since it can perform exactly the same functions as the original Balanced Body reformer, in November I will begin offering shared sessions at a lower rate for anyone who is interested. I’ll tell you more about that soon!

Meanwhile, I can’t wait to introduce you to The Tower!

Adventurer, world explorer, thrill seeker ... not really. Just a guy who spent nearly 40 years writing and editing for newspapers and one really good news website. Well, that's over. And so is the struggle to live well in the USA. My wife, Rose Alcantara, and I moved to Belize in early 2014. It has been an amazing adventure but there is always so much more to learn. You'll find out about our life on Ambergris Caye on this blog, oftentimes exactly when we do. So stick around.
